As an Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr Salie is experienced in treating all shoulder injuries and problems such as rotator cuff tears, tendonitis, biceps problems, fractures, unstable shoulders, joint injuries, frozen shoulder, and shoulder arthritis.
During your consultation, Dr Salie will discuss your diagnosis and management options with you. Depending on the surgery performed, you may be allowed to go home on the same day or the following morning. If the pain is expected to be severe, we will advise you to stay overnight so we can manage your pain. You will be given a sling and instructions on how to use it. Dr Salie will refer you to a physiotherapist if required. Your first follow-up visit with Dr Salie is normally 2 weeks after surgery to assess your recovery.
If you are experiencing any shoulder problems, contact Dr Salie. During the first consultation, he will take time to find out more about your health and the nature of your shoulder problem. He will also examine you to identify the origin of pain, assess the shoulder movement and stability, and measure the power in the various muscles attached to the shoulder.
